This small 112-page topoguide takes stock of all the passable canyons in the Var valley, in the Alpes-Maritimes. Presenting the most famous canyons as well as those that have remained more discreet, it offers a variety of sites that will delight both pure canyoners and fans of secret routes.
27 sites are described. Each sheet is the subject of a descriptive introduction, specifies the characteristic elements (commune, map, height difference, length, departure altitude, approach, descent and return times, useful rope length, rating, length of the possible shuttle). A description details access, approach and return. A simplified map of each site makes it easier to understand and avoids getting lost... And a detailed topographical profile allows you to have a precise overview of obstacles.
High flow, dry canyons, long races and introductory descents, the Var valley offers varied landscapes when it comes to canyoning. There are countless spots from the Nice hinterland to its source, in the foothills of Mercantour.
