Guidebook with 38 canyons in Ain + 22 canyons in Jura
This guidebook offers 60 canyon sheets, spread across the 2 departments of Ain and Jura. They are grouped into sectors (5 in Ain, 3 in Jura) each with a color code. Each sheet, numbered, has the following information:
- an annotated opentopomap map with parking, access, entry and exit points,
- a concise summary of the characteristics of the route,
- an insert describing the main characteristics: Access, approach, rating, travel time, starting altitude, elevation gain, length, height of the highest waterfall and the largest rappel,
- a stylized topographic profile allowing you to see the sequence of the different obstacles, the equipment in place, possible escape routes...
- generally one or two photos of the site,
- a description of the aquatic character, the commitment, the equipment, the descent and the return.
A general map by department allows you to see where the canyons are generally located in relation to each other. A few inserts titled "Encyclopedia of Relays" provide a glimpse into the wide variety of artificial and natural anchors used during descents.
Five other sites in the neighboring department of Doubs are also mentioned.
