Versant Sud is a club of canyoning enthusiasts who have been involved in supervision and training for over thirty years.
The HONU, a hybrid descender, was developed to promote simple, versatile canyoning for everyone, in complete safety.
- The HONU has been tested in real conditions by our team of enthusiasts for over 4 years and meets the requirements of the EN-15151-2 standard.
- It is a versatile, simple descender suitable for all levels of practice, from beginner to experienced practitioner.
- The HONU is the leader's essential tool: detachable rappelling system, rappelling on single or double rope, guided rappelling system, auto top rope, rope ascent, blocking 2 strands...and much more!
- The HONU is also used to make beginners safer when rappelling.
- It can be used with semi-static canyon ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 10.3 MM.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
SELF-CHECK
Before any use, ensure that:
- The HONU has no cracks, corrosion, mechanical deformation, and no falls.
- Check the wear of the rope friction on the HONU (on the aluminum). If the wear corresponds to more than 2mm (20%) of the initial dimension the HONU MUST BE STORED.
- Check the wear of the rope on the HONU during detachable rappels . Systematically check the wear of the rope before or after each outing.
- Make sure you have read and understood the instructions, user guides and videos.
RESPONSIBILITY
All the HONU usage techniques presented in the instructions, videos or fact sheets have been tested by us in real conditions for several years.
These usage techniques must be understood and carried out as explained in the instructions, videos or sheets.
Whether the user is a beginner or even an experienced user, it is important to learn HONU techniques under the supervision of an experienced person before using it in a canyon.

It is strictly forbidden to modify, machine or repair the HONU.
