Canyoning requires a lot of sliding, sanding and generally "scourging" of your equipment and clothing. The harness, the shorts, the wetsuit - they are all regularly damaged.
The ScuttleButt is designed to be used with highly adjustable leg loops and hip belts. Sleeves allow the leg loops to slide into place. The opening in the sewing allows the holdup strap to be extended and used as normal. In the new version, the entire lap belt slips into a welded sleeve, with a center opening for attaching the straps to the rear, although they are not needed. For the ScuttleButt to work, your harness leg loops must open fully so that they can be pulled through the sleeves.
The chair / seat is made of a mid-weight PVC fabric. The experience is that it lasts for a while and can be easily repaired (tape).
